Seascape continues to broaden its line of modern ceiling lighting by increasing the custom designer fabric print options as well as our other unusual materials in acrylics, woods and brushed metal finishes, as shown on our pull-down menus on our website. These same options are also available on each of our various shapes and sizes of modern and retro pendant lighting fixtures and portable table lamps. Manufacturing our lighting products in-house allows us to offer our customers a wide assortment of custom lighting options, which is a very rare feature to find in today’s flood of import items on the market place.

What we see new in today’s marketplace are discerning customers searching out products which can be customized without costing an arm and a leg. Fabric and Texture Lamp Shades

When it comes to designer  drum fabric and texture lamp shades and other barrel shapes, Seascape has the competition beat by a mile. With our in-house graphics department, SL is able to create designer lamp shades and print them on their state of the art giclée printer. We have several hundred fabric designs on our website that you may choose from, all in a variety of different colors, or you may request specific colors that match your interior. Our graphics department can assist you with your design ideas or just take your ready-to-go files and print them on whatever size and shape fabric drum lamp shade you like.

If you’re not looking for prints, Seascape has a wide variety other designer fabric materials to choose from. We have a broad range of colors in dupioni silks, and if we don’t carry a specific color, we may be able to obtain it for you if you are ordering in quantity. We also have several neutral linen colors, as well as plant-fiber based materials in various neutral colors and wood veneers that we can stain in numerous colors.

When it comes to different shapes for your designer fabric lamp shade pendants, we can make hundreds of different sizes in several shapes. Quite popular are our designer fabric drum lamp shades, and the oval-shaped pendants, which are nice for over dining room tables. We also make long cylindrical shapes, which by themselves work well for over bars, or grouped in threes for over dining room tables and in foyers. Well I spent my day on Sunday with Chris, our graphics guy from work, checking out the Alfred Shaheen Textile Exhibit in San Jose, California, going on thru August 16th. We had the pleasure of meeting his daughter Camille and husband Bill, two of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. Camille and Bill have spent several years restoring, buying and building her father’s collection of vintage fabrics and apparel pieces. They have graciously agreed to allow museums in several cities to exhibit the Shaheen Collection to be enjoyed by many. I’m so grateful that Chris and I were invited to the grand opening to view his artistry up close and personal; it was a real visual treat. The brilliant colors of these tropical textiles were overwhelmingly beautiful, and the designs were incredibly magical. Shaheen was the most creative and prolific Hawaiian manufacturer in the post-WWII fashion, an extremely intelligent man with an incredible amount of vision. He built one of the most comprehensive textile printing and garment manufacturing businesses in all of Hawaii.

I feel very fortunate now to be licensed to print Alfred Shaheen’s Lighting Collection for Hawaiian contemporary lighting fixtures, table and floor lamps. Because we manufacture our lighting fixtures and lamp shades in our California lighting facility, we allow our customers to mix and match Shaheen’s fabric patterns on any of our lighting products. We can print fabric for large lighting fixtures up to five feet in diameter, and as small as four inches for chandelier lamp shades. Great for restaurant lighting or for residential lighting that needs a punch of color. Several companies who have been licensed by Shaheen to print fabrics and decorative plates will be in the market place in the next several months. The Shaheen name and look is timeless, and deserves it’s market share of today’s home accessories. Shaheen’s beloved hand prints are Hawaiian classics that represent Hawaii around the world and have become part of the Hawaiian mystique.
